BoB – the new way to access TV and radio programmes

The University has now purchased the BoB (Box of Broadcasts) off-air recording and broadcast media archive service, which will replace the current in-house off-air recording service.  Through our BoB subscription, UK-based Nottingham Trent University staff and students will be able to:

  • watch programmes from the BoB archive, (which currently offers tens of thousands of TV and radio programmes)
  • record programmes due to be broadcast in the next seven days
  • retrieve TV and radio programmes from selected channels, which have been broadcast in the previous seven days
  • create and share playlists of programmes
  • create clips from programmes
  • embed clips/whole programmes within NOW

BoB can be accessed directly via

http://bobnational.net

or through the Find Databases section on Library OneSearch, where you will also find the library’s BoB User Guide.  The User Guide covers logging in, scheduling recordings, retrieving recordings, creating playlists and clips, embedding links and many other features.  For more detailed support with BoB or to arrange training, please contact the Liaison Librarian for your subject.

Resource lists will be rolled over for the next academic year in early June.  Please ensure that you have published any recent changes to your list as items in draft will not be rolled over.

Improving your Library

Improving your Library

NTU Libraries are investing in an exciting programme of redevelopment to create inspiring and attractive places for study. In response to demand we will increase the amount and variety of study spaces. This summer sees the opening of a brand new library at Brackenhurst and the refurbishment of the ground and lower ground floors at Boots Library. Visit the blog to find out more.

Work on improving Clifton Library is currently at the planning stage and will be completed as part of the Clifton campus regeneration project. When we have more details we will post them on the Improving your Library blog.
